La eclissi

La eclissi is a single-player card RPG split into two parts: a novel section and a battle section. The story follows Rozet, who sets out to find Philae, the childhood friend he grew up with, after reading a message left behind in a letter. The setting is a society in which the order once maintained by the mafia has been torn down by popular violence, with a new order beginning to form in its place. Along the way, Rozet’s journey becomes tied up with other characters who are unable to leave their pasts behind, including Io, who cannot escape a life of violence, and Tethys, who is driven by revenge. The narrative is told from shifting points of view, with these separate threads gradually coming together.

Battles take the form of a card game built on blackjack and dice. Players use attack and defence cards from their hand to fight enemies, and each card’s value changes depending on the outcome of dice rolls. Bringing the total value of played cards closer to 21 unlocks additional effects, while going over that number results in a bust. Character skills and card skills can be combined to defeat opponents.

The game has now been released and is estimated to take around five hours to complete.
