Let Them Trade

Let Them Trade is a city-building strategy game set in a kingdom where players establish cities to acquire and produce resources scattered across the map. Players choose building placements, while cities themselves manage citizen needs, budgets, and independent buying and selling of resources and goods. The player earns a percentage of taxes from city trades, with wealthier and happier cities generating more revenue than poorer or less content ones.

Core gameplay involves overseeing a self-regulating economic system rather than directly controlling every transaction. Players can research production buildings and resources, purchase goods through the castle for improvements, and trade goods for profit or store them for future use. Knights can be sent out to scout new territory or to protect cities and trade routes from bandits attracted by accumulated wealth.

The game includes a campaign following a king and his advisor, Mr. Nuts, as well as a sandbox mode for open-ended play. A built-in scenario editor allows players to create custom scenarios and share them via the Steam Workshop, providing varied challenges beyond the main campaign.
