Lootbound

Lootbound is a run-based roguelike from a third-party developer. Each run begins with a single hero moving across a map, and the player picks a route towards loot. Along the way, companions join the party to help in combat. During fights, only the main hero is directly controlled, while companions act independently according to their own behaviour.

Equipment is central to the game. The hero and every companion each require their own set of gear, and items are placed into a grid inventory rather than fixed slots. Items can be rotated and positioned anywhere there is free space. Some items carry auras that boost weapons or armour in neighbouring cells, so shifting an item by a single cell can alter how a build performs.

At the end of each biome, the player selects one of two boss parts, each of which changes the appearance and strength of a Guardian that must be fought as the final boss once all biomes are cleared. Special rooms offer rewards at varying difficulty levels, with more valuable rewards being harder to secure through a dice roll. At the time of writing, the game’s Steam user review rating is listed as Mostly Positive, having previously been Very Positive.
