Loss Prevention
Loss Prevention is a game of cat and mouse set in a shop, and it’s exactly as chaotic as that sounds. One player takes on the shopkeeper role, keeping an eye on the shop floor, listening out for PA announcements, and trying to spot anyone acting a bit dodgy. Everyone else is a shoplifter, working through a shared shopping list while doing their best to look like a totally normal customer.
The trick for shoplifters is balancing speed with subtlety. Moving too fast or acting weird gets you flagged by the NPC shoppers wandering the store, who’ll happily snitch to the keeper if they clock something suspicious. You can buy yourself some breathing room by sabotaging the store’s microphones so the PA system stops ratting you out, but that’s a risk in itself.
Getting caught isn’t the end though. Teammates can attempt a jailbreak to free anyone nabbed by the keeper, but that means someone has to decide whether finishing the list matters more than saving their mate. And if things get properly heated, both sides have weapons to fall back on, so don’t be shocked if a can of peas ends up flying at your head. It’s silly, sneaky, and a right laugh with a group.
