Muri: Wildwoods

Muri: Wildwoods is a platform adventure game in which players control Pelle, an acrobatic creature exploring the mysterious island of Wildwoods. The game combines exploration and platforming, with players running, jumping, and climbing through natural environments and strange structures to uncover the island’s secrets piece by piece.

The core gameplay involves using a watergun with unlockable nozzles to clean corruption from the environment and its creature inhabitants. As corruption is removed, the island’s nature is restored and its colours return. Throughout the adventure, characters known as Teamsqueak communicate with Pelle through a smartwatch, offering information and commentary on discoveries made along the way. The overarching goal is to free the island’s forest spirit, the Raccoonicorn, which has been overwhelmed by corruption and is unable to maintain the ecosystem’s balance.

The game features over 1000 items to clean, along with hidden secrets, sketches, and vista points to discover as part of Pelle’s aspirations as an artist. Players can collect lore entries in Pelle’s sketchbook and interact with critters, including petting and hugging some of the larger creatures. The game includes accessibility settings and a minimal user interface intended to keep focus on exploration and the game’s world.
