Night of the Living Bubble

Night of the Living Bubble is a first-person shooter in which the player works a night shift at RRH (Rugs, Rags and Handsoaps). During the shift, the store and the surrounding outlet mall are overrun by sentient monsters that have come to life from the products on its shelves. The creatures were created by an evil mad scientist who wants to dominate the world, and the player’s task is to stop them with a store-issued nailgun.

The player moves through several levels of the outlet mall, fighting enemies such as bubbles and stuffed animals. The main objective in each area is to destroy the spawners that keep producing the creatures. Alongside the nailgun, the player’s tools include shaken soda grenades and other home appliance items, and the description lists running, shooting, flaming, bombing and swinging at enemies as ways to fight. The enemies keep coming, so the player has to keep moving.

The game began in January 2025 as a Global Game Jam project. The team started with five people and grew to six, and they developed it while also attending classes and holding jobs. On Steam, the game has more than 10 user reviews and an overall rating of Positive.
