Nine to Never is a short, monochromatic 2D puzzle-platformer in which an office worker named Freeman explores a strange office building while trying to escape a repeating work week.

Nine to Never is a short 2D puzzle-platformer presented in monochrome, with a look inspired by retro computer games. The player controls Freeman, an ordinary office employee stuck in a routine of repeated work weeks. After the first day, events in the office begin to turn strange, and the aim is to find a way out before the cycle starts over.

Gameplay centres on exploring a run-down office building, completing daily tasks and solving puzzles with objects found in the environment. Players can move boxes, flip light switches and interact with their surroundings to progress. In some cases the way forward involves falling into the void, as taking the apparently wrong route can lead to an exit. Players can also talk to co-workers, who share complaints and information about the office and possibly about Freeman himself.

The game features an original soundtrack combined with nostalgic computer sound effects. The atmosphere becomes increasingly unsettling as the story progresses.
