No Murders in Grimwick
No Murders in Grimwick is a story-driven investigation game set in the small town of Grimwick during its annual fall harvest festival. The player takes the role of a journalist who arrives to cover the event. The assignment changes when a local resident is found dead and displayed as part of the scarecrow competition. The game combines dark themes with humour and a autumn festival setting. It is designed to last roughly one to two hours and can be played in a single sitting or across several sessions.
Gameplay centres on exploring the town and working out what happened. Players question suspects, examine clues and follow leads. Items can be collected and used to open up new routes and obtain further information. There is no combat and no time pressure, so the investigation can be carried out at the player’s own pace.
The town is presented in a hand-drawn style and is populated by a cast of unusual residents. Alongside the main mystery, the game includes optional conversations, secrets and humorous side activities. The story touches on small-town rumours and a suspicious group described as a “cult” in connection with the murder.
