Oddbat
Oddbat puts you in the wings of a vampire bat with unlimited flaps, which sounds simple until you’re gliding through swamps, scaling pyramids and realising every screen is its own little momentum puzzle. It’s easy to pick up but Oddbat isn’t shy about cranking the difficulty right up, throwing intense platforming challenges at you that’ll really test your timing and nerve.
The world here is huge, over 1000 screens of dashing and dodging with loads of hidden nooks to stumble across, and you’re free to tackle it all in whatever order suits you. There’s plenty to do beyond the platforming too. Track down 600 victims to sink your teeth into, from lowly peasants to kings and even a few fairytale faces, and rescue 150 pets to bring back home because even an immortal bat gets lonely. Drink enough blood and you’ll unlock secret challenges to really put your skills to the test.
When you’re ready for the real gauntlet, there are 8 themed dungeons waiting, each with their own twists to figure out, guarding bosses whose blood you’ll need for the final ritual. No upgrades, no powerups, just you, your wings and a world that wants to see you fail. Respawns are instant and checkpoints are generous, so death never feels like a slog, just an excuse to have another go.
