Peacemaker: Bloody Emperor
Peacemaker: Bloody Emperor is a Japanese-style role-playing game centred on the psychological decline of a princess knight. The story follows her attempt to reclaim her empire from a ruthless usurper referred to as the Bloody Emperor. Along the way she is forced into a marriage with a vassal and faces the threat of a female dark lord, and these ordeals gradually wear down the honourable ideals she begins with. The game is part of the Bahamut 30th Anniversary Indie Game Promotion Program.
Combat is turn-based and the developer states that it does not require grinding or item farming. Battles are instead intended to be won through strategy, drawing on the strengths of party members and targeting enemy weaknesses. Several difficulty settings are offered, ranging from a Combat-free Mode for players who wish to focus on the story, up to an Extreme Mode for those seeking tougher encounters.
The presentation uses 2.5D camerawork during storytelling sequences. The developer permits streaming and Let’s Play videos of the game, including monetisation through the built-in features of online video platforms, and asks that the game’s name or Steam page be referenced in the title or description.
