Play the Wor!d

Play the Wor!d is a deckbuilding roguelite. Each run begins with a small set of letters. Players are dealt randomly drawn letter tiles and combine them into words. The letters available change as a run progresses, so players work with whatever tiles they have at the time.

Words are then connected according to their parts of speech to complete sentences, and different sentence structures can be built. Sentences act as the game’s scoring system. Sentence structures, word patterns and the characteristics of the chosen vocabulary can all trigger additional scoring opportunities, which lets players build a strategy around combinations that work together.

The game also includes emoji tiles, which have their own special rules and effects. These can alter how a round is played and allow unusual combinations that raise the score. Each round sets a target score to reach, and players adapt to the tiles they are dealt, discover new elements and refine their combinations as they progress. The game has 2 user reviews on Steam.
