Pocket Chief!
Pocket Chief! is a desktop application developed by a third party in which a character named Chief sits in the corner of the screen and keeps a record of the user’s activity. As the user works, Chief gathers what they have been doing into a section called Current Work. The user can return to this list at any point and choose to keep an item, mark it as done, or ignore it.
The day’s activity is arranged in a timeline, allowing the user to locate tasks that were left partly finished earlier on. Chief occasionally adds her own comments to this record. At the end of the day, a daily review brings completed work and outstanding items together on a single page, and the user can select anything they wish to carry over to the following day. The user can also talk to Chief directly from the edge of the desktop; these conversations are stored alongside the rest of that day’s record, and her tone and reactions change over time as she is used more.
Before use, the user must set up Activity, after which recording can be paused at any time. According to the developer, raw screenshots are processed locally on the user’s computer and are not uploaded. Signing in to Pocket Chief Cloud is done through a Steam account; this service provides the AI features and receives only the context required for each request.
