Rico Rite is a roguelike variant of Breakout. The player moves the paddle while drafted hero balls attack on their own as they bounce, and swarms of bricks advance toward the player.

Rico Rite is a roguelike game based on the Breakout format. The player controls only the paddle, while the balls do the fighting. Each ball is a hero chosen by the player, and it attacks automatically as it bounces. Examples include a hero that causes bleeding on contact, one that throws blades, and one that heals the player. At each level up, the player picks another hero from a pool of 20.

Bricks arrive in swarms and move steadily toward the line above the paddle. Every brick that crosses the line costs the player one heart, and the player starts with five. A combo meter rewards quick kills by increasing the player’s speed, and it drains when the player stops killing.

The game includes 20 hero balls, each with its own attack, range and cooldown, and 11 paddles that each have a unique ability and playstyle. Powerups can be caught and bounced. A boss appears at wave 10, after which the game continues in an endless mode.
