Roadside Research

Roadside Research is a simulation game playable solo or in co-op with up to four players. Players take on the role of aliens who have landed on Earth disguised as gas station employees, tasked with running the station while secretly gathering data on humans.

During the day, players manage the gas station by restocking shelves, refuelling customers, preparing food, and ordering supplies, all while appearing to be ordinary employees. At the same time, players must covertly scan, steal from, and test methods on customers to collect research data without raising a suspicion meter. If suspicion rises too high, government officials arrive to investigate.

At night, players can plan for the following day and use closing hours to upgrade the gas station. The game features a dual upgrade system, allowing players to improve the station’s facilities to attract more customers while also upgrading alien technology to process data more efficiently. Players can also customise their disguises, including drawing expressions on their alien technology to help them appear human and avoid detection.
