Runecast
Runecast is a strategy game built around rune casting and automatic combat. Each cast produces a set of options, and players recruit heroes based on the result before positioning them across three lanes. Once a formation is set, the battle plays out on its own, with the player’s decisions made between and around the fighting rather than during it.
Heroes can be merged by collecting three identical units, which raises them from level 1 to level 3. Equipment found between waves can be assigned to individual heroes, with up to three slots each, and items carry effects such as extra range, bleeding, first-hit protection and target changes. A Forge allows players to edit the 16 faces of the rune bag, altering the outcomes of future casts, while a Shop and Relic Shelf provide run-wide bonuses that sit alongside per-hero equipment. A full run spans four acts of ten waves each, introducing new enemies and bosses along the way. Bosses have distinct mechanics; the Web Queen, for example, plants a cocoon that spawns spiderlings, and attacking or destroying it changes how the encounter unfolds.
The demo includes four heroes, the Dwarf, Archer, Healer and Thief, and is playable on Easy difficulty, ending with the Web Queen encounter. The Barbarian, Druid and Necromancer are listed as arriving after the demo. Hero evolution paths exist but are not detailed on the Steam page and are left for players to discover in play. Runecast is developed by a third party and is not an RGS title.
