A fishing and cooking game where a small robot catches, prepares and serves fish to mythical and animal customers across four distinct locations.

Scale the Depths is a fishing-based game in which players control a small robot that catches fish, scales them and serves them to a range of customers. Progress is built around a loop of catching fish, earning money and using it to upgrade gear before heading back out to fish in deeper, stranger waters.

The game features four fishing locations inspired by real-world places, including Loch Ness, Outer Banks and Point Nemo. Each location has its own environment, gear, fish species, hidden paths and puzzles. Customers include wild animals such as otters, axolotls and herons, as well as beings drawn from myth and folklore, including Nessie and Kelpie. Each customer has individual preferences for fish, and serving them correctly affects the tips received.

Beyond fishing and serving, the game includes exploration elements such as hidden treasures, collectible artifacts, messages in bottles, secret passages and environmental puzzles involving levers. Collected notes and logs contribute to an underlying story explaining the robot’s purpose. Players can also upgrade rods, hooks, bags and scaling tools, unlock new boats, and customise their character’s appearance and equipment.
