Sewer Crawler
Sewer Crawler combines tactical autobattler strategy with roguelike 3D dungeon crawling. Players navigate randomly generated sewer networks across seven stages, gathering resources such as Gold and Keys along the way. Special rooms found during exploration grant Artifacts, so moving through the sewers serves purposes beyond simply reaching the next encounter.
Combat follows a conventional autobattler structure. Souls collected during a run are spent to recruit and upgrade units, each with their own abilities, stats and traits. Before a fight begins, the player positions their units on an 8×8 grid and can apply Potions. Once combat starts, the fighting resolves entirely automatically, with the outcome determined by the composition and placement chosen beforehand. The game encourages building teams around synergies, or improvising with whatever options are available when the draft is unfavourable.
The game is designed for repeated runs, with a range of possible team synergies to try. Completing Achievements unlocks additional Units, Traits and Items, and a higher-difficulty BRUTAL Mode becomes available once everything has been mastered. Sewer Crawler was made by a single developer over five months as the practical component of a Master’s thesis. According to the developer, no generative AI or external store assets were used, and all code, 3D models, sprites and sound effects were created or recorded from scratch.
