SIX SECOND SHADOW
Six Second Shadow is a precision platformer set in a neon-lit night city. The campaign consists of 90 rooms, each of which starts with a six-second timer. A shadow copy of the player replays their movements with a one-second delay, and any contact with it is fatal, so the player has to keep moving at all times. Time crystals placed along each route add extra seconds to the clock, and each room is structured as a sprint from entrance to exit.
Rooms include a range of hazards and traversal elements: saws, presses, timed lasers, spikes, springs, wind columns, moving platforms, crumbling blocks, teleporters, and keys paired with locked doors. The player also has a dash. Lives are infinite and restarts are immediate after death. According to the developer, every room has been played through by hand to confirm that no jump is impossible, and the rooms are ordered according to measured completion times so that difficulty rises from an introductory stretch to the harder final sections.
Completing the campaign unlocks Escape mode, which contains ten maps up to 158 screens wide with no timer, no collectibles and no backtracking, and a shadow that follows half a second behind. An Arcade mode provides endlessly generated rooms with a score to chase. There are eight unlockable character skins, and a story told in two parts that covers why the city sells time and what lies behind the last door. The game is localised into English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
