Sludgineers

Sludgineers is an active incremental game centred on pollution. Rather than progressing passively, the player takes a direct role in clearing contaminated areas, extracting materials from them and turning those materials into usable resources and money. Travel through a countryside setting provides the backdrop for this cycle of cleaning, collecting and earning.

The core loop involves building and running a refinery, where gathered material is processed into resources that can be sold or used. Income funds new equipment and upgrades, including higher-tier tools that make the cleaning and mining work more efficient. Spending on upgrades also opens access to new regions, each offering further pollution to deal with, and the game includes a quest system that gives the player set objectives to work towards as they explore.

The game has now left development and is fully released on Steam. At the time of writing it holds a Very Positive user rating, having passed 1000 user reviews.
