Space Carrier Zero
Space Carrier Zero is a retro space action game with incremental progression. The player commands a single carrier that holds position while enemy fleets attack from all directions. Twelve carrier types are available, and card packs collected during play permanently raise the player’s power across subsequent runs. There is no level cap on the card collection.
Each run moves through a system of nodes that offer wrecks, weapon drops, card packs and salvage. Remaining at a node raises an alarm level that escalates from fighters to elite units and finally to an intercept fleet of capital ships. The jump drive requires thirty seconds to charge before the player can leave, so each node involves a trade-off between gathering resources and avoiding heavier opposition. Routes are chosen across five acts, with locations including garrisons, caches and drydocks. Each act ends at a piece of enemy infrastructure, including an orbital shipyard that continues launching ships until its cradles are destroyed, a War Moon, and a Capital World in the final act.
Weapons are divided into ballistic, ordnance and energy families, with weapon evolutions to choose from during a run. Examples range from railguns to a launcher that pulls an enemy formation to a single point before imploding it. A catalogue of relics alters how the ship and its weapons behave. Capital ships have destructible gun decks and contain rewards. The game features a generative darksynth soundtrack that intensifies as combat escalates, and a robot voice with a vocabulary of around one hundred words.
