HELLBREAK

HELLBREAK is a first-person action game set in the depths of hell. The player takes the role of a soldier from the World Wars who is fighting to avoid eternal damnation. Play is structured around waves of demonic enemies, with more than 15 enemy types and several bosses, each using their own tactics.

Combat centres on an arsenal of 19 demonic weapons, including machine guns, shotguns, revolvers and the skull of a heretic. Each weapon is described as supporting a different playstyle. Players can also cast spells such as infernal flames, summoned demonic totems and a wraith form, and can apply a number of curses to control and defeat enemies.

Progression involves unlocking and choosing from over 150 blessings that modify abilities and playstyle. Players can earn favours from demon lords, which give advantages at the start of each trial, so that attempts differ from one another. A combo system awards high scores, and global leaderboards allow players to compare results.
