Spirits of Baciu

Spirits of Baciu is an adventure puzzle game set in Hoia Baciu forest, a location known for its haunted reputation. Players follow The Lost One, a small spirit who wakes in the dark forest with no clear idea of how he arrived or what haunts the place. A free Prologue is available as an introductory chapter, though it is not playable in the full game.

Gameplay centres on interacting with the environment and solving riddles. Players talk to spirits, collect clues and items, and combine them to uncover new information. Point-and-click mechanics are supplemented by platform mechanics, which are used for specific puzzles. Compared with the Prologue, the full game has revised mechanics and graphics based on player feedback, a new inventory system and controller support.

The game uses hand-drawn characters with frame-by-frame animation. Its settings combine real photographs with illustrated elements, and examining the surroundings is part of finding clues and inventory items. Conversations with the forest’s inhabitants help with puzzles and navigation. The soundtrack is original music with a nostalgic tone. The developers have also mentioned an upcoming Kickstarter campaign.
