Splatter Piece is a first-person party game in which one to eight players attempt to copy famous paintings at easels before a timer runs out, with accuracy scored automatically.

Splatter Piece is a first-person party game set in a shared art gallery. Between one and eight players each take an easel and attempt to reproduce a famous painting displayed on the gallery wall before time expires. At the end of each round, every canvas is compared with the original and an accuracy score is calculated automatically. The highest accuracy determines the technical winner, while players can also award hearts to choose the room’s favourite. A match runs through an entire chosen collection, and each round’s winner has their canvas hung on a winners’ wall.

Painting tools include three brush tips (a crisp-edged pen, a grainy airbrush that builds up with repeated passes, and a soft sketch brush that tapers at both ends), a colour picker, a preset palette drawn from each painting’s own colours, an eyedropper, an eraser, adjustable brush size and opacity, canvas zoom and pan, multi-step undo, and a guide grid that divides both the reference and the canvas into matching squares. Outside of the painting itself, players can kick rivals to knock them over, and once per match a piece of candy appears that can be thrown to splash paint wherever it lands without affecting scores. During the warm-up period, paint can be applied to floors, columns and other players. An emote wheel, conga lines and sofas to sit on are also available.

The paintings are based on works by artists such as Van Gogh, Vermeer and Monet, with collections ordered from easier to harder. Each painting has daily, weekly, monthly and all-time global leaderboards, and solo runs are included. Completed works are saved to a personal gallery where they can be replayed stroke by stroke. Online play supports two to eight players via Steam friend invites, public rooms or short room codes with optional passwords, and a single-player practice mode uses the same scoring and leaderboards. The host sets the round length (one to fifteen minutes), warm-up time and collection. The game includes a range of playable characters and is localised in thirteen languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
