THE WORK

A form lands on your desk. Read it. Cross-check it against the terminal: employee records, department codes, working days, clearance levels, supervisors. The numbers rarely agree with each other.

Then decide. APPROVED or REJECTED.

Stamp wrong and Compliance notices. Stamp too slowly and the queue does.

THE PROTOCOL

Every form carries the prefix NX. Every stamp is a seal. Something was filed away in this building forty-seven years ago, and the paperwork is the only thing holding it shut.
