Super Clown Spookyland

Super Clown Spookyland is a third person platformer that returns to the Super Clown character with a dark, horror-themed setting. The game contains nine levels, each with a horror aesthetic and accompanying horror-style music. The premise is that Super Clown must find and defeat a rocky enemy boss in each level, which removes a gate and allows access to a star. Collecting the star finishes the level and also unlocks Steam achievements.

Each level features standard enemies, including green enemies that follow the player, walking skeletons that cannot be killed, and cannons that shoot at the player. Regular enemies can be dispatched by jumping on their heads. Levels also contain hazards such as spikes and lava, both of which kill the player instantly. Some stages require the use of trampolines and jumping platforms to cross lava and avoid other traps. Hearts can be collected throughout the levels to restore health.

At the end of every level the player encounters a stationary rock boss. The boss does not move but performs jump attacks when Super Clown comes within range. To defeat it, the player must jump three times on a red button located on the boss’s back. This is only possible in the few seconds immediately following one of the boss’s attacks. Once the boss is beaten, the gate disappears and the player can collect the star to complete the stage.
