SUSHI CHESS
SUSHI CHESS is a turn-based game in which two sides battle using sushi pieces on a board. Each piece has its own price. When a player captures a rival piece, that player gains ground on the board but pays the bill for the piece eaten. Players must weigh up which piece to take, such as a nearby Omelet or a more valuable Tuna, as captures affect both the board position and each player’s budget.
Players can also choose to pass a turn by having a cup of tea instead of moving a piece. Passing is not free, as the cost of the tea falls on the player who takes it. The game also involves tempting a rival into capturing particular pieces, which changes the rival’s spending as well. A player can aim to capture the Tuna or to target the rival’s wallet.
Solo play includes a Puzzle Mode, where the aim is to find winning lines in a range of positions within a set number of moves. Players can also face CPU opponents at Easy, Normal, or Hard difficulty. For two players, the game supports local head-to-head matches on one PC, and one-on-one online play by inviting a Steam friend.
