Tales & Tactics
Tales & Tactics combines roguelike strategy with squad-based autobattling, built primarily around a single-player adventure. The game has no time limits, allowing players to take as long as they need to learn its mechanics and plan their strategy. Players guide a character through The Grand Tournament, a three-act single-player campaign involving battles against rival characters and bosses.
Core gameplay involves assembling a squad from over 100 units, including Fae, Dragons, Treefolk, Skeletons, Ghouls, and Orcs, spanning roles such as Tanks, Healers, Mages, and Engineers. Units can be equipped with items from a pool of over 200, and players can expand their army size, unlock new unit tiers, and acquire perks from a selection of over 200 to shape their run. Rewards vary between runs, requiring players to adapt their team composition each time.
Progress unlocks new perks, units, and items through a system designed to add depth rather than raw power, and these unlocks can be individually disabled to control pacing. Beyond the main campaign, the game offers a Challenge Climb with 15 difficulty tiers and additional mechanics, a custom difficulty option, and both ranked and unranked asynchronous PVP modes for battling other players’ teams.
