Kristala

Kristala is a dark fantasy action RPG set in the world of Ailur, which is gradually being overcome by a curse. The player takes the role of a feline warrior who sets out to find the source of this curse. Enemies include undead creatures, tortured spirits and large boss monsters.

Combat involves blocking, dodging and deflecting attacks, and combining light and heavy attacks with weapon abilities. Up to 16 spells can be equipped at once. Mana is regenerated through melee combat, and deflecting an attack allows the player to perform a critical takedown. Traversal relies on feline parkour abilities, which are unlocked by progressing the main storyline. Each new ability opens up routes in areas that have already been explored.

Exploration is tied to the story, which is pieced together through written journal pickups, NPC interactions and items called Kristal Memories. Players create their own feline character by choosing fur pattern and length. The chosen clan determines the type of magic that is levelled, while the starting class sets the initial weapon, armour and stat loadout. Stats, magic and feline abilities can be levelled to suit a preferred play style. The developers state that the game has been shaped by community feedback since launch and that further refinement, optimisation and expansion are planned, with features and priorities subject to change during development.
