Text Battle Royale

Text Battle Royale is an online multiplayer game that combines typing with the battle royale format. Once a match begins, every action is performed through typed input. This includes walking, running, looting, shooting, healing, throwing grenades, equipping weapons, reloading and taunting other players. Because the game relies on keyboard entry rather than mouse aiming, accuracy and speed of typing determine how effectively a player can act.

Combat works by bringing an opponent into your line of sight, typing their name and pressing Enter to fire. Typos count against you, so a misspelt name means a missed shot. The game also includes over 100 unlockable customisation items, such as sprays, voiceline taunts and kill signatures. These are earned by levelling up and completing challenges, with a new item granted at every level and no duplicate rewards.

A Custom Games option allows hosts to adjust in-game variables through the Server Settings menu, including Health, Speed, Weapon Damage, Loot Drops, Ammo, Zone Speed and Name Length. This can be used to set up alternative match types, such as knife-only free-for-alls, single-pistol shootouts or sniper-only rounds.
