The Plucky Squire

The Plucky Squire is an action-adventure game centred on Jot, a storybook character who is expelled from the pages of his own book by Humgrump, the story’s villain. After discovering he is destined to lose, Humgrump alters the tale, forcing Jot into a three-dimensional world outside the book in order to find a way to restore its original happy ending.

Gameplay involves moving between 2D and 3D perspectives, with Jot travelling through the pages of the storybook as well as the space around it. Players solve puzzles, take part in combat sequences such as fighting badgers, and complete a variety of mini-challenges, including sections involving a jetpack.

The game combines traditional storybook-style 2D exploration with 3D world traversal, structuring its adventure around shifting between these two formats to progress through the narrative and overcome Humgrump’s dark forces.
