Well Dweller

Well Dweller drops you into the boots (well, talons) of Glimmer, a tiny bird who lives at the bottom of a well and has decided enough is enough. The wicked queen took his siblings, so he’s grabbed a matchstick and set off to burn her kingdom down from the inside. It’s a dark fairy-tale metroidvania made by the team behind Crypt Custodian and Islets, and that pedigree shows in every corner of this rotted little world.

You’ll explore a crumbling kingdom full of oddball characters who are just trying to survive the queen’s reign, like Ilda the mouse dodging capture, or Looter, a scavenger with a taste for shiny things. Along the way you’ll fight nasty beasts, pick up new abilities to open up fresh parts of the map, and use your lit matchstick to both light the way and torch enemies in combat.

There’s a good chunk of trinket collecting too, letting you mix and match upgrades to shape how Glimmer fights and explores. Between the puzzles, the boss fights, and the search for his missing siblings, there’s plenty pulling you deeper into this gloomy, oddly charming little world.
