Secrets of Temple Isle

Secrets of Temple Isle is an adventure RPG inspired by older dungeon-based games of the genre. The player takes the role of a well-known treasure hunter caught up in an invasion of a peaceful island by time-travelling pirates. The story follows the effort to drive out the invading army, free the occupied towns and uncover the history of the island, including an ancient energy said to flow through it. The game was previously titled Wacambria Island and has since been renamed by its developer.

Combat is melee-focused, with sword strikes and shield blocks described as heavy and weighted. Enemy creatures attack aggressively and deal high damage, so the player is expected to strengthen their character through levelling and by equipping weapons and armour found across the island and its ruins. Dungeons and caverns are hand-built and contain hazards such as pressure plates, dart shooters, spike traps and fall damage. Hidden chambers hold relics and gear, and uncovering every secret in a zone grants a special currency that can be exchanged for rare items. Movement uses third-person controls with modern camera handling.

Outside of combat, treasure gathered during exploration can be spent in shops on gear, cosmetics, decorations and food. Players can buy one of several homes on the island and furnish it using purchased or found items through a freeform editor that allows objects to be moved, rotated and scaled. The island itself is an open landscape containing multiple biomes, ranging from jungle to dry ruins, with temples, caves and old settlements to search for loot left behind by a lost civilisation.
