Wanderburg
Wanderburg is a minimalist roguelike set in a medieval world where castles roam across the land. The player controls a mobile fortress that starts small and grows by consuming what it encounters. Fleeing villages, wandering flocks and smaller fortresses all contribute to the castle’s growth, and defeating larger enemy castles advances its development further. The game is structured around repeated runs, with the fortress rebuilt and expanded each time.
Progression works through a modular system. Rather than simply upgrading, the castle physically expands as new siege modules and structures are added. Players can mount cannons, raise arcane towers staffed with wizards, deploy explosives and combine these parts into different builds. The setting mixes medieval and anachronistic elements, including steam-powered siege engines, arcane artillery, knights on bicycles and large strongholds that fire broadsides in the manner of warships.
Between runs, players unlock new modules, vehicles, artifacts and captains, which broaden the strategies and combinations available in later attempts. The game supports mouse, keyboard and controller input, and the developer states it has been optimised to run on a wide range of hardware.
