Tidy or Treat
Tidy or Treat is a co-operative organising game set in a Halloween shop. Every year a restless spirit pulls all of the stock from the shelves and leaves it scattered across the floor, breaking nothing, taking nothing and offering no explanation. The player’s task is to pick up each item, work out where it belongs and return it to its place, gradually clearing the floor before the 31st of October.
The game can be played alone or with friends, with groups able to split the shop by department. As players tidy, they earn a set of abilities that make the work easier: calling every scattered item of one type to their hands, highlighting everything that belongs on the shelf they are facing, and sending an armful of items to its destination without carrying it there. These are unlocked progressively, so the job speeds up as the player improves.
Four modes are available. Casual has no clock and no pressure. Timed challenges players to race against the clock, plan their route and chase their fastest completion. Witching Hour unlocks every ability from the start with no restrictions. No Tricks removes all abilities and shortcuts, leaving players to complete the night by hand. The developer states that no AI was used in making the game.
