TRUDGE
TRUDGE is a psychological game set in a silent city where each day repeats the same pattern of waking, working, eating and sleeping. The setting draws on themes of routine, addiction and despair, with the player moving through the same streets and habits as the days blur together. Over time the repetition begins to shift, and the player is presented with the possibility of breaking the cycle.
Progress is made through observation, patience and the deliberate breaking of habits. The player can choose to resist temptations and follow unfamiliar paths in an attempt to uncover what lies beneath the city’s routine. Movement and overall pacing are slow by design, and the developer describes the game as a demanding experience built around monotony and persistence rather than fast action.
There is no dialogue in the game, with the story told through quiet moments instead. TRUDGE features multiple endings depending on whether the player escapes the cycle, uncovers what lies beneath, or gives in to something greater. The developer states that the game is entirely handmade, with no AI-generated content used anywhere in it.
