Ved: Recure

Ved: Recure is an action game with roguelike elements. The player character is an overworked adult who has lost enthusiasm for games, a condition called V.E.D. After falling asleep at their computer, they wake in another world where a mysterious tower has appeared, robots round up residents and the weather changes without warning. Demeowrge, the God of Games, sets a treatment that involves fighting, exploring and collecting buffs. Completing it allows the player to return to the real world, or to stay.

The game offers seven characters, each with their own abilities, playstyle, personality, action mechanics and upgrade paths. Combat is fast-paced. Instead of standard numerical bonuses, the game uses nine core attributes and more than 150 buffs that the player can link into customisable chains. Buffs are activated through the player’s own tactics, and the way they connect and trigger shapes each battle.

The game contains four large stages, each with a distinct style, and 16 bosses. Boss fights involve blocking, dodging and striking. Players can also find and collect more than 50 pieces of equipment, some with hidden traits that affect the player’s buffs. One new DLC item has recently been added on Steam.
