Watch My Step!

Watch My Step! is an online co-operative platforming and trap game for two to four players. Every player runs the same course, but the traps are not shown to everyone. A hazard that appears on one player’s screen may be completely invisible to another, even when both are standing in the same spot. Players are expected to describe the positions and timing of the dangers they can see and to listen to warnings from their teammates in order to find a safe route.

The team runs, jumps and avoids traps together while working towards checkpoints. When any one player reaches a checkpoint, progress is saved for the whole team. Each failure adds a 30-second penalty to the final time, so the aim is to complete the course as quickly as possible while balancing speed against caution. Teams can keep replaying to improve their best time.

The game includes separate online leaderboards for two, three and four-player teams. A single-player mode is also available, in which every trap is visible; the developer presents this as a way to learn the map, controls and traps rather than as the main mode. Times set in single-player are not submitted to the leaderboards.
