Another Card Game

Another Card Game is a player-versus-player card game supporting up to eight participants in a single match. It also includes a mode called “No Friends” that fills a lobby with bots, allowing the game to be played without other people. Each match plays out differently, and the developer notes that the game’s randomness is not entirely random.

On each turn, every player assembles a spell from one to three cards, which is then used against opponents. The order in which cards resolve is shown on the cards themselves, so sequencing is part of the decision. Some cards take up more than one slot in a spell. There are currently six card archetypes, and placing several cards of the same archetype in one spell increases its strength.

Players who lack useful cards have two options: compressing cards to produce a special card, or burning cards to discard them and receive replacements on the following turn. The game’s rules allow a player to win without surviving to the end of the match, and eliminating oneself before opponents do so is presented as a legitimate tactic.
