Another Eden Begins

Another Eden Begins is a role-playing game directed by Masato Kato, with a main theme by Yasunori Mitsuda and a soundtrack from Procyon Studios that combines traditional folk instruments with orchestral music. The main story is fully voiced. It follows Aldo, who lives quietly in the village of Baruoki with his younger sister Feinne until she is taken by the Beast King. Pursuing them into the Moonlight Forest, Aldo is thrown through a tear in spacetime and arrives in a world 800 years in the future, beginning an adventure that spans multiple eras.

Combat uses a command-based system in which the player builds a party from attackers, supporters and healers, with character roles and synergies unlocking additional skills. Attacking fills the Another Force gauge; once activated, Another Force prevents enemies from acting while the party delivers a sequence of attacks.

Over the course of the game Aldo meets 18 companions, each with their own background and abilities. Players can learn more about them through encounter quests, character quests and kinship quests, the last of which open up as relationships with those characters deepen. Completing the main story unlocks New Game+, in which characters keep their existing strength and a mysterious girl prompts Aldo to set out again. Choices made during this second journey lead to one of more than 10 possible endings.
