Arcaneering: Beyond Automation

Arcaneering: Beyond Automation is a factory automation game with a magical engineering theme. Players design production lines in which machines are powered by Mana, spells can be used to improve efficiency, and mystical recipes unlock manufacturing capabilities beyond conventional methods. Progress is tied to reclaiming forgotten lands, where ancient fortifications block access to resources and rare discoveries. Clearing them requires developing more advanced weapons and magical capabilities over time.

Discovery is a central part of progression. Treasure chests can contain secret recipes or spells, travelling merchants offer exclusive technologies for trade, and Mana trees can be nurtured for rewards. Factories must be adapted to the geography and resource distribution of each world, which is procedurally generated so that layouts and optimal strategies differ between playthroughs.

Progression is customised through technology and skill trees containing more than 275 research nodes. Players can concentrate on automation efficiency, focus on arcane approaches, or combine the two. Production lines feed into territory reclamation, and research choices determine which strategic options become available. At the time of writing, the game has four user reviews on Steam.
