Waterjacked! is a turn-based roguelike. The player takes the role of a gunslinging succulent chosen to save their people in a place called The Valley. The aim is to fight through to the Robot HQ, where a figure known as The Prophet resides, and defeat the robots that have been harvesting the region’s water.

The main weapon is a modular system called the GRID. Players place, rotate and move Modules within it to find combinations that produce stronger attacks. New Modules are bought from the Fabricator’s Shop after each fight using robot scrap, and purchases cannot be refunded. Examples include the Archer Sigil, which fires bolts, and a Module that grows damage-boosting flowers.

Other items include Augments, which provide a range of utilities and power boosts, many of which come with downsides. Herbals are related consumables whose effects last for a single Scenario. Each robot enemy presents a different threat, with abilities that include shifting the GRID and stealing Modules.
