Meridian Strike
Meridian Strike is a turn-based tactical RPG in which the player commands a small mercenary company of mechs across a series of contracts. Battles are played out on hex battlefields, where movement, range, cover, line of sight and terrain all affect the outcome. Players choose positions, line up shots and queue orders for the round before committing to them.
Damage is tracked by location, covering both armour and internal structure. Losing a limb can mean losing the weapons mounted on it, and leg damage can reduce mobility. Severely damaged machines can be put out of action until the company can afford repairs. Heat is a second constraint: firing weapons too aggressively can cause systems to lock down, so holding fire is sometimes the better choice. Players select which machines to deploy and which pilots command them, with different chassis, weapons and pilot strengths suiting different tactical approaches.
The game continues between battles, as the results of each mission carry forward. Pilots gain experience and skills over the campaign, but they can also be injured or lost. Between missions the player repairs machines, manages injuries, chooses salvage and monitors company funds before deciding when to deploy again. Other listed features include multiple missions with tactical objectives and custom scenarios for additional battles.
