Arcanum Idle
Arcanum Idle is an incremental game in which the player takes over a house whose study contains a chalk circle, a lit candle and eight Sigils left behind by an unnamed predecessor. The Sigils are arranged in eight tiers, each one generating the tier beneath it: an Ember produces mana, a Rune Stone produces Embers, and so on up to the Sanctum, which sits eight steps removed from the base resource. The stated aim is to build a production chain rather than to accumulate power directly.
Progress is structured around five reset layers. Resonance collapses the circle so it can be redrawn at a larger scale, Transcription converts the whole Study into a page, Ascension discards those pages, Convergence moves the player beyond the house, and Chronomancy is purchased using the total count of previous resets. Players also choose a Doctrine, which can be swapped at any time: the Quickened builds Momentum through manual play and performs best while the player is active, while the Patient gains strength the longer it is left running. The Constellation is presented as a board rather than a shop, with each star’s value determined by adjacent stars and Bridges only counting once placed between two relevant nodes.
Trials let the player run the Study with a specific rule removed, such as no tempo, only two Sigils, or no ladder so each tier must function independently, and the rewards from these are permanent. Every Ascension also returns a Relic, of which only one can be kept at a time; examples include a chalk stub, an empty bell and a broken hourglass, each altering how the study behaves rather than adding raw stat increases. The game includes offline progress, autobuyers for most systems, support for very large numbers, and contains no adverts or timers.
