At Face Value
At Face Value is an idle-leaning incremental game built around a standard 52-card deck. Players click the deck to earn points, which are fed into a vending machine to automate gold production. Upgrades thicken the deck, a coin can be hired to flip cards in the background, and further progression allows several decks to run at the same time.
Scoring depends on the four suits, each with a distinct effect. Hearts add flat value to the base score of every card. Spades multiply that base value. Diamonds carry a portion of each card’s value over to the next card. Clubs stack multipliers when cards match in suit or value consecutively. The game also includes a large upgrade tree and three currencies: points, gold and gems.
Two additional modes sit alongside the main deck. The War Table pits the player’s card against a rival’s, with streaks earning gold and gems and a loss resetting the streak to zero. The Matching Board involves flipping cards and chaining pairs to earn gems. Gems purchase the more advanced upgrades but are lost when the player prestiges. Prestige resets points, gold, gems and base upgrades in return for permanent global multipliers, and also awards shards. Shards are spent on cosmetic items such as felts, borders and card backs, which do not affect stats. A built-in auto-clicker is available as a purchase and remains active until the game is closed. The game uses pixel art, and its upgrade tree contains a hidden button that changes how multiplication works.
