Welcome to Elderfield

Welcome to Elderfield is a horror-themed RPG life sim set in the town of Elderfield, a place where unusual events are treated as everyday occurrences. The townsfolk are described as odd, eldritch beings watch over the area and local news reports grow stranger over time. The game uses hand-drawn visuals inspired by horror manga, and its soundtrack consists of dark lofi music composed by Dated.

Players can customise their home and character, follow daily mysteries, and build relationships with the townsfolk, including the option to marry one of them. Other activities include fishing, mining, foraging in the surrounding wilds, and running a farm. Farming involves cultivating land, harvesting crops such as corn, pumpkins, teeth and eyeballs, managing otherworldly livestock, and dealing with tentacles that grow across the land. Creatures from the woods may also wander onto the farm.

The game offers a choice of difficulty. A cozy mode provides a more relaxed experience focused on harvesting and discovery, while a harder mode centres on turn-based combat against Lovecraftian horrors. In combat, players use gathered resources, buffs and a range of equipment to survive encounters. The developer describes a loop of dying, learning, farming and foraging before returning to fight again.
