BeaterCore is an arcade racing game centred on inexpensive, worn-out cars rather than purpose-built sports cars. Players buy a project car, then repair, restore and tune it before entering racing events and progressing through a career mode. Repairs take place in a first-person garage, where players can also buy furniture and build up a stock of spare parts. Between races, cars require field repairs, as components can fail during events. Spare items are carried in the car’s boot, and limited space means players must choose what to bring along.

The game supports local split-screen play for up to four players on one screen, with full keyboard controls. Online multiplayer is also available, and cars in online races are affected by wear in the same way as in career mode, so resource management still applies. Tracks are presented across different times of year, including icy winter conditions and autumn settings, which players must prepare their cars for.
