Blightstone

Blightstone is a strategy game with roguelike progression. The player’s mission is to protect the Earthglass Crystal and carry it to the Infernal Rift, where the demon overlord Korghul can be destroyed and the Blightstone shattered. Failure is part of the structure: each defeat lets the player learn and collect new skills for the next attempt. Journeys are procedurally generated, so each run differs, and the story behind the Infernal Rift, the Earthglass, the Blightstone and the enemies is revealed as the journey continues. The game has moved from early access to full release.

Combat does not use a grid. Characters move freely to take cover, and enemies can also move freely and attack from different angles. The environment plays a part in battles. Players can hide in long grass or set it alight to deny enemies cover, and can gather enemies in water to amplify electric attacks. Dynamic weather also affects play: dense fog obscures the battlefield, rain amplifies electric attacks and strong winds affect accuracy.

Players can recruit heroes and companions from five classes: Brawler, Hunter, Arcanist, Druid and Priest. Each class has its own abilities and companions. A wide range of active and passive combat skills can be unlocked for the party and for the Earthglass Crystal itself, covering melee, ranged, area of effect and grappling skills that can be combined into combos. Dozens of status effects, including bleeding, poison, binding, stun and burn, can change the course of a battle.
