Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged

Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged is an updated version of an earlier award-winning adventure game, developed by Revolution. Players control George Stobbart, a tourist, and Nico Collard, a journalist, who become caught up in a conspiracy linked to the Knights Templar. The story begins in Paris and moves through locations across Europe and the Middle East. The game is fully voice acted and uses the soundtrack by composer Barrington Pheloung.

Gameplay is built around point and click adventure mechanics. Players explore locations, gather clues, interact with characters and solve puzzles. The puzzles involve observation, deduction and creativity, including tasks such as deciphering codes and manipulating objects. Players can choose between a more modern style of adventure play and the classic point and click approach. Help options include an integrated story recap, hints on demand and automatic highlights. A dialogue history lets players reread earlier conversations.

The Reforged edition adds remastered 4K visuals and enhanced audio. Players can switch between the original and reforged graphics at any time during play. Bonus content includes dialogue restored from the original scripts, along with secrets unlocked on completing the game. The game supports mouse, controller and touchscreen controls. Interface options include Option Exhaustion, Fast Exit, Walk Assist and subtitles, all configurable. Progress is saved automatically, and players can also save manually.
