CARDCRAFTER
CardCrafter is a roguelite deck-building game in which the player takes the role of a smith who crafts cards rather than simply collecting them. Affixes are added to cards using Enchanting Stones, and effects are inscribed with Runes. The game includes more than 330 affixes, so a basic card can be developed into a range of different “Destiny Cards” depending on the choices made during crafting.
Runs take place across five realms. Players choose a route through a mix of battles, events, rest stops and treasures, and encounter elite enemies and bosses that carry randomised affixes. Encounter difficulty adjusts as the run progresses, and after a victory the player selects which rewards to keep. Cards are divided into three rarity tiers and several card types, with a set of keywords and status effects that interact with them. Memory Shards can corrupt cards, adding unpredictable variables in exchange for potentially stronger outcomes. Some rare variant cards have exclusive visual effects.
The game also features a Marketplace where players can list cards and materials they have crafted and compete for those made by others. Materials serve two roles: they are consumed when forging cards and also act as the currency traded between players, so a card crafted by one player may end up in another player’s deck.
