Crosstalk: Hardware Sniffers

Crosstalk: Hardware Sniffers is a free downloadable content pack for Crosstalk, now released. Where the base game takes a hands-off approach with players, this DLC introduces a more structured layer by adding a basic set of missions themed around computer architecture. These missions support leaderboards, stats and achievements.

The DLC also includes authoring tools that allow players to build their own challenges based on computer architecture topics and share them with others through the Workshop. This means the available content is not limited to the included missions, as the community can contribute additional challenges.

Completing the included set of missions is a requirement for accessing two other pieces of Crosstalk content: the Story mode and the House of Hex DLC. According to the developer, this is because those DLC assume a detailed understanding of computer architecture, binary, and hex pattern-matching, and the Hardware Sniffers missions serve as the means of demonstrating that understanding.
